custom wine rack

A wine rack is a bottle storage system that can be installed as a standalone unit or integrated into a wine cabinet, display case, cellar, or even used as part of a wine wall.

Features of custom wine rack implementation

01

Designer solutions

Design ideas should go hand-in-hand with real-life storage and day-to-day use. We’ve seen plenty of impractical wine racks and shelves and know which options are the most convenient — and which are better avoided.

02

Smart organization

Proper organization saves space, helps maintain high capacity, and keeps your collection in one place. Presentation formats are great for showcasing your bottles in a striking way.

03

Practical modularity

A practical approach is to use modular racks, so you can build a system for any number of bottles. This lets you cover a large area in a consistent style while combining different storage formats.

04

Unique prototypes

We can always produce unique custom wine racks. When developing a new design, we first create a mock-up or a sample section so you can confirm that the concept is worth putting into production.

05

Temperature control

If you need to store bottles at a specific temperature, we can design a wine room with a dedicated climate system or install a separate cooling solution.

06

Project visualization

It’s often hard to imagine how a wine storage system will look in a real interior. That’s why we offer drawings and visualization of the future solution.

Custom wine rack for vertical storage

Let’s note an important detail about vertical bottle storage. In this position, the cork does not contact the wine, so this rack type is not suitable for long-term aging. Also pay attention to the following points:

01

A vertical-storage shelf can be divided into sections (down to one bottle per cell); it’s often used in wine shops. These solutions require more material and make cooling more complex.

02

If the shelf is fully loaded and used inside a wine cabinet, it’s important that air can circulate. In other words, the shelf should be perforated.

03

In some cases, it makes sense to add a guard so a bottle cannot fall from a vertical shelf.

04

A standard bottle height is about 300 mm, but some bottles are taller. It’s also easier to take a bottle out when there’s some free space above it, so a 350–400 mm shelf height is often more convenient.

05

In width, it’s best to keep modules up to 600 mm. Options over 800 mm may visibly sag when fully loaded (depending on the material).

Vertical wine rack

Custom presentation wine rack

Allows guests to see the label and store bottles more compactly than vertical storage. In some layouts the cork may not contact the wine; most often this is a good option for wines that are ready to drink. It’s important to consider the mounting hardware and whether it will be visible — especially in premium wine cabinets.

01

Bottles can be stored at an angle — typically from 15 to 45 degrees

02

In height, this is a more compact solution — it can take 200 to 300 mm

03

In width, the recommendation is also not to exceed 600–800 mm

04

If a shelf has no stops, a bottle can roll and may even fall.

  • For wooden shelves: special cutouts for bottle necks.
  • For tubular systems: silicone rings.
  • For acrylic or sheet metal: bottle cutouts.
05

A combined layout is also possible: one row of bottles is stored at an angle, and behind it there are shelves for vertical storage. This allows you to showcase your collection and still fit many bottles.

06

It’s also worth noting presentation niches that can be highlighted (lighting, mirrors, a baguette frame, a different material). They are great for displaying magnums.

07

We also offer custom bottle stands. They help create a truly premium look.

Presentation wine rack

Custom horizontal wine racks

This is the most efficient option in terms of rack height usage. Often 100 mm is enough for one level. Key details:

01

Shelves can be pull-out or fixed

02

In depth, one or two rows of bottles can fit

03

With two rows, the more efficient layout is shoulder-to-shoulder. This option is often used inside wine cabinets, but it may not be suitable for every bottle shape.

04

Most likely, with two rows the bottle bottoms will face outward, while with one row the necks will face outward — which usually looks more aesthetic.

Materials used in wine racks

We love experimenting with designers. Want to create something unusual? If you have a unique idea, we can make samples for free — simply because we enjoy it.

custom wine rack

Custom metal wine rack

Can be made from 1–2 mm steel or stainless steel. We use brushed and mirror-finish stainless steel. Regular steel can be powder-coated (RAL) or finished with industrial paints with patina effects like copper, brass, or bronze.

A durable, reliable, and easy-to-replicate solution

A new metal coating option is titanium nitride. It’s applied in a special chamber and produces a golden mirror-like finish. It looks extremely impressive.

Wooden wine rack

Wooden racks include solid wood as well as plywood and MDF.

Key features of each material type:

Moisture-resistant plywood is finished with veneer (a thin slice of natural wood). It won’t warp, but veneering works best on flat surfaces. Edges can also be veneered or left unfinished.

MDF can also be veneered or painted. Painting typically includes two primer coats, a base paint, and a protective lacquer. Each coat is two-component. This option is among the most expensive but allows you to achieve the exact color you need.

Solid wood offers a wide choice of species and stain colors. We most often use beech, ash, and oak — an optimal option for wine racks. Pine is cheaper but can leave resin marks and is relatively soft. Exclusive species are possible on request, with mandatory sample approval.

It’s important that solid wood and veneer are treated with protective oil or wax. This helps prevent possible mold and highlights the color and grain of the wood.

Acrylic wine rack

Acrylic or similar materials (solid polycarbonate) are transparent and typically used in thicknesses from 3 to 20 mm. The material can be laser-cut or CNC-milled. The cut edge can also be made transparent.

Lighting elements integrate well, and acrylic sheet bending techniques can be used

The material is strong enough, but for load-bearing structures (e.g., a fully transparent rack) it makes sense to use thicknesses starting from 8 mm.

We also use acrylic rods and tubes that allow for integrated lighting and a more “airy” wine storage design.

Compact wine racks

When it comes to structure and functionality, it’s important to decide right away where the rack will be installed.

compact wine rack

Tabletop wine rack

A simple yet stylish rack for a countertop — a perfect solution for opened bottles or a small collection. Most often, the goal is to add a wine-themed accent to the interior.

wall-mounted wine rack

Wall-mounted wine rack or shelf

It’s not just a convenient way to store bottles — it also adds interest and appeal to a wall in your home or restaurant. Most wall-mounted wine racks also include space for glasses and accessories. They look great and decorate the space.

A hanging wine rack is ideal for showcasing a small wine collection and can even be used to create a wine wall

A hanging solution can also hold glasses and accessories, keeping your countertop clear without buying extra glass holders

hanging wine bottle holders

Hanging bottle holders don’t take up floor space and are perfect for small rooms. They can be made from almost any material and can also be combined with cables.
